Umsuluzi Lodges are located within the 3000 hectare, malaria-free Umsuluzi Game Park. Located just 30 kilometers off the main tourist artery between Johannesberg and Durban in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands, the Umsuluzi Game Reserve comprises an extensive swath of KwaZulu-Natal's Valley Bushveld, a vegetation type that captures the essence of South Africa.
Three self-catering thatch lodges are situated with a commanding view of the historic Bloukrans River. They accommodate from 4 to 8 people. The cottages are ideally situated beside a series of rapids and pools on the Bloukranz River between Colenso and Weenen in KZN.
Umsuluzi is well populated with many different bushveld game species including giraffe, zebra, kudu, waterbuck, impala, blesbuck, red hartebeest, wildebeest and rhino. This rugged bushveld is softened only by the silence, interrupted intermittently by its most common residents, the prolific bird life.
Journey through the 3000 hectare Umsuluzi reserve exploring the extensive beauty of Kwazulu-Natal's Valley Bushveld. You have the opportunity to venture into the unknown wilderness and experience nature first hand.
